Handloom is an age old technology which is still giving livelihood to millions of people around the world. It is the most environmentally friendly way of making textiles and does not consume any power except human efforts. Handloom textiles are energy efficient and do not release any ozone depleting gases.

There are many places and cities in India which are famous for their special handloom textiles. People who are working in this sector are not getting sufficient returns as other synthetic textiles are dominating the market. Further, most of the handloom units are in the villages and are family owned. They do not have sufficient management expertise to market their products. Hence, it is necessary to have a common platform to market their products so that these family firms and the workers can get a decent return.
